Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Align ("Align", "we", "us", "our") provides AI-powered conversation rehearsal for workplace professionals. Users practise difficult workplace conversations with a voice-based AI partner and receive a structured debrief.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. It applies to all use of our website at rehearse.livealign.co and livealign.co.

2. Scope and applicable law

Align is operated from Singapore and made available globally. We comply with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA"). Where users are located in jurisdictions with additional data protection laws — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("EU GDPR"), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), or equivalent — we also comply with the requirements of those laws in respect of those users.

This policy is written to give all users a clear, equivalent set of rights regardless of where they are located.

3. Data we collect

When you use Align, we collect the following:

Account data

• Email address (for sign-up and authentication)
• Name (if you choose to provide it)
• Authentication metadata (sign-in times, session tokens)

Rehearsal data

• The scenario type you select (e.g. "Deliver tough feedback")
• The relationship you select (e.g. "Manager", "Direct report")
• The short situation description you write before each rehearsal
• The full transcript of each voice rehearsal (text only — audio is processed in real time and not stored)
• The date, time, and duration of each rehearsal

Technical data

• IP address (for security and abuse prevention)
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Essential session cookies (required for authentication)
• Analytics cookies and identifiers (see section 5)

We do not currently use advertising trackers or marketing cookies. If we add any in future, we will update this policy and request your consent where required.

4. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• Provide the rehearsal service
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Save your rehearsal history so you can review past sessions
• Understand product usage and improve the service
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your rehearsal transcripts to train AI models.

5. Analytics and cookies

We use product analytics to understand how Align is used and to improve the experience. We currently use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC, United States).

Google Analytics collects information about your visit, including pages viewed, approximate location, device characteristics, and aggregated usage patterns. This data is processed by Google as our data processor. See https://policies.google.com/privacy for details.

Where required by law (including in the EU, UK, and certain other jurisdictions), we will request your consent for non-essential analytics cookies via a cookie banner before they are set. You may withdraw consent at any time through the cookie preferences link in our footer.

Essential session cookies (used to keep you logged in) do not require consent and are always active when you use the service.

6. Service providers

To provide the service, we share certain data with the following third-party providers, who act as data processors on our behalf:

Anthropic, PBC (United States) — provides the AI conversation engine. Rehearsal transcripts and session context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate coaching responses. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. See https://www.anthropic.com/privacy

ElevenLabs, Inc. (United States) — provides voice generation and speech recognition for the rehearsal experience. Audio is transmitted in real time. See https://elevenlabs.io/privacy

Supabase, Inc. (United States) — provides our database and authentication infrastructure. Stores your account data and rehearsal records. See https://supabase.com/privacy

Vercel, Inc. (United States) — hosts our website and receives standard server access logs. See https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

Google LLC (United States) — provides Google Workspace for our internal email and Google Analytics for product analytics. If you contact us, your message is processed by Google. See https://policies.google.com/privacy

Each of these processors operates under their own data protection terms. We have data processing agreements in place where required.

7. International transfers

Align operates from Singapore, and most of our service providers are based in the United States. When your data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the Singapore PDPA's data transfer requirements (such as written agreements binding the recipient to a comparable standard of protection), or equivalent mechanisms recognised under applicable law.

For users in the EU/UK, transfers to the United States and other third countries are made under the relevant safeguards required by EU/UK GDPR.

8. Data retention

• Account data: kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where we are legally required to retain certain records for longer.
• Rehearsal transcripts: kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of specific rehearsals at any time by emailing us.
• Server logs: kept for up to 90 days for security purposes.
• Analytics data: kept for up to 14 months in aggregate form.

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see section 10).

9. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following bases:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the service you have signed up for
• Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the service
• Consent — for analytics cookies (where required) and any future marketing communications
• Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with law

10. Your rights

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your data (the "right to be forgotten" / right to erasure)
• Restrict processing in certain circumstances
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Receive your data in a portable format (data portability)
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

In Singapore, you may also contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at https://www.pdpc.gov.sg. Users in the EU may contact their national data protection authority; users in the UK may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk; users in California have the right to contact the California Attorney General.

11. Security

We protect your data using industry-standard security measures, including:

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encryption at rest (provided by our database infrastructure)
• Role-based access controls
• Regular security updates

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in significant harm or significant impact on your rights, we will notify the relevant authorities and you in line with our legal obligations.

12. Children

Align is not directed at users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or by a clear notice on the website. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
